PRETÉRITO IMPERFECTO COMPUESTO

Past Imperfect Compound is a non-existent tense, rather, an invented time. From my early days I am documenting my daily life repeatedly consolidating an extensive personal archive of images that is usually the raw material for most of my projects. Everything can be photographed and any image is a potential expressive tool. Taking advantage of the new (or almost new) Photo character, it ceases to be exclusively generating snapshots, we build images that carry their own time via digital photomontages. In these works -which occupy most of my production until 2007 about- created from scraps of different passages of the recent past, the elements taken from reality are manipulated and decontextualized. Then we witness to a rebellion of the familiar, an epic of the everyday in which people often become characters, places become stages and objects become improvised attrezzo.
